Lauren Moya Ford (Boca Ratón, 1986) is an artist and writer based in Madrid, Spain. She has exhibited and performed her work at The Menil Collection, Rice University, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston Hirsch Library, Temple University, Desperate Literature (Madrid), MCO Arte Contemporânea (Porto), and others. Her writing and visual art has recently been featured in Gulf Coast Journal, Fields Magazine, and Apocalypse (Vienna), her critical essays have been published in exhibition catalogs at the Municipal Museum of Lalín, Spain, the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and between 2015 and 2017 she wrote about more than 20 artists in the Iberian Peninsula on her blog Vigo Expo. Ford’s artist’s books have been published by Paratext and The Center for Imaginative Cartography and Research, and in spring 2018 she created Editorial Froitas, an independent art and poetry press. Awards include the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center Fellowship for Interdisciplinarity, the Frank Freed Travel Grant for research in Mexico City, and residencies include Ox Bow (Michigan, US), O Sol Aceita a Pele para Ficar (Guimarães, PT), and El Centro de Arte La Regenta (Las Palmas, ES).
